Skills Required: Our client is the investment arm of a major Dubai based conglomerate. Focusing primarily on private equity, it has made investments exceeding $5 billion in its first year of operation. To help support its rapid and on-going growth, a critical position has arise for a VP Marketing & Communications to join the operation.

The Job: To manage and promote the company's reputation in the region through the media, opinion formers and the public in general so as to project an image of strength and responsibility, by which the company can successfully pursue its interests. This will involve in particular: Working closely with the business heads including the CEO, regional managers and Head of Marketing to develop and implement the company's overall communications strategy both regionally and internationally. Ensuring that all marketing and communications objectives are translated into achievable deliverables. Developing all policies and procedures for the Marketing and Communications functions, ensuring full alignment with the dynamic requirements of the company and the Group marketing function. Planning and coordinating conferences and special events. Being the 'front face' of the company with a widespread media audience from local press to The Financial Times, Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal.

The Person: A high level of Media/ Press Communication skills is critical and a pre-requisite to any application. At least eight years experience in a Communications / Journalistic or PR role. Some of which will ideally have been gained in the financial services sector. Very strong interpersonal skills - a 'can do' attitude coupled with a firm but fair approach is important. Fluency in English (Arabic would be an advantage but is not a prerequisite).
